I was born in Akron, Ohio and spent most of my youth living in and around the area. (Pretty much the south side of Cleveland… Go Browns!) Between the ages of 8 and 12, we moved back and forth across the country countless times, ultimately ending up in Denver. I worked a lot of jobs in my years in Denver.
At 12, I landed a full-time job (yup, 40 hours a week at 12!) working at Dave Cook Sporting Goods store downtown. In high school, I worked as a District Court Clerk in Golden, CO (not at all like what you see on TV), and also sacked groceries and stocked shelves on nights and weekends. After high school, I worked at a Dairy and a Brewery for a few years, which inspired me to get my butt back to school, studying aviation. After a few years of study, I landed a job as a co-pilot for a little cargo outfit. I only had to pay them $10 an hour for the privilege of working there, what a deal!
At 21, I was working for a construction rental company during the day, about 25 hours a week (this was owned by Lee’s brother, Ken). I also worked swing-shift for the Coors Brewery from 3p-11p, giving me just enough time to drive to the airport to make the midnight cargo run from Denver to Casper, WY, which got me home around 4am, enough time to grab 3-4 hours of sleep and do it all over again! At 23 I was burned out (shocking, right?). I met my (now) wife Shannon at a friend’s wedding and fell head-over-heels. PROBLEM, how do I maintain my current schedule and add in a long-distance relationship? SOLUTION, I don’t.
Within 6 months, I scrapped it all and moved to Lincoln. I started working for a radio station in Lincoln and found my true calling, business and marketing. After several years in radio, I helped Shannon start Transformation Marketing. In the company’s 6th year, I had the opportunity to join the team full-time and never looked back. I love my job, our company, our people and our clients.
